Facebook launches Lifestage, the new app for teens

A few years ago, when Snapchat started to become one of the most popular apps in America, Mark Zuckerberg tried several times to take over this company, but the owners refused to sell it again and again. Zuckerberg saw the potential that the application had in its beginnings, in 2011, but after many attempts and offers, some of them off the market, he threw in the towel and decided to start offering almost the same Snapchat options in his different applications. At this point I think that no one will have any doubt about the lack of originality of Facebook when it comes to adding new functions, since most, if not all, are copies of other applications such as Snapchat, Twitter ...

In recent years, it has already become a common lake to see how large companies are also using Snapchat as a means of communicating with their followers, in addition to Twitter and Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg's company to try to steal users from the Snapchat platform, has just launched Lifestage, a new community for those under 21 years of age. The application asks the user to make faces, dance, take photos of food. All of this is transformed into a video to which we can add a large number of stickers, in true Snapchat style.

But in addition to being under 21 years old, Users must be students since when registering in the application we must add the educational center to which they belong. Furthermore, in order to view the profile of other users, the target user must have at least 20 active followers at that time. With so many requirements, it does not seem that Lifestage has many ballots to succeed in the future. As often happens in this type of launch, this application is currently only limited to American territory, but the idea of Facebook if it succeeds is to expand the use of this application to the whole world. It is currently only available for the Apple ecosystem, that is iOS. The launch of this new way of communicating for Android is contingent on the success or failure of the application in the coming months.
