Fresh´n Rebel CLAM, promise versatility, comfort and quality [Analysis]

We return with the analysis, and it is that the summer far from stopping our feet reminds us that there are some products that require information when considering their purchase. Now with trips and getaways we seek to isolate ourselves, a good atmosphere and above all rest. Few electronic elements help this more than a good headband headphones, far from the True Wireless headphones that tend to fill our pockets in the day-to-day bustle. Today we review a Fresh´n Rebel product, the CLAM headphones with high quality sound and passive noise cancellation. Stay with us and find out if they are a good buy.

Not infrequently it is difficult for us to find good headphones, the market is overcrowded with well-known brands, others not so well known and others that you did not even know existed. You usually go to your trusted store or bet on Amazon and its scoring and analysis mechanism, but it is still a difficult task to face. Sound and comfort is something very personal and it is often difficult to fit into an analysis of these characteristics, but as always, in Actualidad Gadget We try to put ourselves in the shoes of our readers, and especially of those who seek through us to know a product in depth before buying it, so let's go there.

Dye design and materials premium

The low and mid ranges continue to compete to offer products that look like what they are not, however, just a few seconds after opening the box of the Fresh´n Rebel CLAM to realize that they have put care and dedication in choosing the design, materials and colors. To begin with, we find a range of no less than six colors, each with its peculiar and marketinian name, but which I am going to summarize for you: Gray; Aquamarine green; Rose; Blue; Red and dark gray.

  • Material: Plastic - Metal
  • Weight: 240 grams
  • Colors: Ice Gray, Misty Mint, Dusty Pink, Petrol Blue, Ruby Red and Storm Gray

These headphones have a "familiar" design, made of plastic, with an aluminum base inside that glows when we extend the headband. We have circumaural cushions, that is, they completely cover the ear without pressing it, and a textile-viscoelastic lining on the upper part that prevents pressure on the "cocorota". They are definitely designed to be comfortable, as each headset pivots on an axis to adapt to the physiological needs of the owner, in the same way that they are foldable to be able to take them everywhere. We have a button panel (volume and play-pause) on the right earphone, where there is also the microUSB port and the microphone. In the left earphone we have an informative LED and a 3,5mm Jack connection for the most classic ones.

Autonomy and connectivity

The Fresh´n Rebel firm assures us that we will be able to enjoy up to 35 hours of autonomy, yes, a real outrage. But as always happens in terms of batteries, we have to take into account many factors such as heat, the quality of the connection and even the volume at which we listen to music. However, we have obtained results similar to those that the brand promises in your promotional brochure, but we must remember not only that we have a microUSB port (if you thought that in 2019 you would stop seeing it, I feel sorry for you) but requires no less than 3 hours for a full charge, factors to consider.

In terms of connectivity we have Bluetooth to listen to music wirelessly and of course a port 3,5mm jack for those who continue to bet on the classic. The box includes a textile transport bag and which in turn contains two cables: The 3,5mm Jack-Jack and the USB-microUSB, with a color in tune with the one chosen for our headphones and braided in nylon to preserve its durability. This bag, despite everything, does not include any type of handle, although the folded headphones fit perfectly and it facilitates their protection. To connect them is simple, When you turn them on by pressing the Play-Pause button, we leave it pressed for at least six seconds until the LED flashes quickly, then on the mobile device or PC that we want to use as transmitter we simply have to select it on the bluetooth connection panel.

Sound quality and comfort

These Fresh'n Rebel CLAMs have two 40mm drivers that deliver powerful and clear sound even at high volumes. Things get better if we take into account that being circumaural they clearly take advantage of a more than notable cancellation of external noise thanks to their correct adaptability. I am personally not attracted to the NAC system, which is why I prefer passive noise cancellation. The result is that it has an effect deepbass quite common in this type of headphones, without losing other notes and melodic instruments just as important, and this is especially appreciated when you leave the usual urban music and bet on a bit of Rock & Roll or Flamenco Fusion.

As for comfort, clearly circumaural headphones have a negative aspect that we all know: they give a lot of heat. In these times of summer it will not be difficult for you to end up with your ear sweating if you walk a lot with them on the street, but it is the price to pay for a fine and stable sound without interruptions. Wearing them for many hours has not caused, at least in my experience, ear or upper head pain, which I cannot say for all headphones.

Pros

  • The quality of materials and design
  • Comfortable and foldable
  • Easy connectivity and good autonomy
  • Great sound quality very balanced

How could it be otherwise, among many other places, you can find these Fresh´n Rebel CLAM from 79,99 euros on Amazon (link), and honestly I have not found anything that differentiates them notably from other similarly priced headphones, but also no notable flaws that make their price blatant. That is to say, If you like the design, and you are looking for autonomy from the sound output hand and quality passive noise cancellation, why not go for the CLAMs from Fresh´n Rebel?
