The «gamers» prefer the physical format, these are their reasons

Digital content for PC and console is becoming more and more popular, platforms like Steam or the PS Store are making this possible. For example, I only have one physical game on PlayStation 4, however, I have more than forty titles in my library. But make no mistake, video game downloads are becoming popular due to their significant sales. And is that According to a latest survey, the general gamer public prefers the physical format, discs are still a favorite item for pro players, and they have told us why.

The survey has been carried out with around 1200 players from the United Kingdom, and the result is that for 77,1% the physical game is better than the digital one. This does not mean that they buy more physical than digital, but rather that they prefer it, we want to point out this difference. We are not surprised, the CD case on the shelf is an enriching element of the experience, but sometimes savings prevail. These have been the main reasons:

  • You can resell them: We are not going to deny it, the bad thing about a digital game is that although there are more and more methods, the general thing is that you do not resell or share it. In this way, it is true that we can find digital titles almost 50% or 70% of their physical value (PS Store offered the last Batman this week at only € 14,99), when we buy a physical game, we have the possibility to re-sell it, and the sooner we do it, the sooner we recover the investment.
  • The damn downloads: Most users do not have a symmetrical 300Mb fiber, it is a pleasure to download the latest edition of FIFA in just 10 minutes, but Fiber is more than an option, it is a virtue, companies offer it in very reduced ranges, so that for most users it is a tragedy to download around 60GB with an ADSL connection.
  • Share: Nothing better than buying one of the two most important games in recent months, and having your friend buy the other, so you can exchange it in a couple of months and play both games. This with digital download is not possible.

These have been the most varied responses, What is your reason for buying physical or digital?

When you don't travel. But if you travel a lot, digital is less. Sell them if later they don't want to give you even a quarter of what it cost and now the games purchased on the 360 today are downloaded at the ONE at no cost. Better digital format

Let's not talk nonsense, please. No one who travels often takes a desktop console with them. Or use the mobile or a laptop. Today, the space of a packet of cigarettes can fit more than 30 3DS games. But most importantly, it doesn't matter if they give you 90% or 10% when reselling the game. You get rid of it because you no longer want it and therefore, whatever they give you, welcome is (as long as it is consistent with the state and age of the game). Because a game that you don't want at all, be it digital or physical, is always there. You can delete it from the HDD but you just deleted it. You will never get back anything you invested in it. You sell the physical version and even if they give you € 10, you have already recovered something. Your next game will have been € 10 cheaper by not having to take them out of your pocket. Try that with the digital version
