The Getty Images agency and Google were mired in a legal dispute. The first accused the second of favor piracy with your option to download copyrighted images through the Google Images service. A year later, the agency has withdrawn the lawsuit and they have reached an agreement.

The truth is that it was very easy to get hold of images from any site through Google Images; searches are fast and with the option of "See image" we had the possibility to see the image that interested us in its original size and download it to be used later. After the agreement Google and Getty Images have reached, this option has ceased to exist.

View Image button disappears Google Images

If you do a search on Google and go to the "Images" tab, you can see that after clicking on any of the results, there is a button that has disappeared from among the different options. Exactly, «See image» is no longer available. In addition, in the agreement reached by both parties, Google must indicate in a much more visible way that the image that the user is viewing on their screen can see the following message: "Images may be subject to copyright."

Now Google has also gotten its share. And is that you will be able to keep all the images of the agency in your results, as long as the other signed points are given. The agency also points out that they have reached collaboration agreements in which Getty Images will provide its products on Google services. While, Getty Images hopes that this movement of the Mountain Viewers will increase visits to their services.; Apparently, the Google option that has disappeared at the moment made users and content creators see their income decrease and they had to be alert at all times to claim copyright.

The one that loses is Google, as it could be defeated by a dwarf like Getty, there are other search engines like yahoo search, bling, duckduckgo, etc ... The problem was with the company, for not having more secure mechanisms with its images, but hey … Bad decisions and at least they will force their users to look for other alternatives, goodbye Google.
