Google plans to launch a 'Pixel 3' laptop with Andromeda for Q3 2017

Andromeda

Those of Mountain View would be preparing the launch of a new Pixel laptop for the third quarter 2017. The project, known internally as "Bison" and by the nickname 'Pixel 3', will be the first new device from Google that would combine Android and Chrome OS in that operating system called 'Andromeda'.

Bison, it would be the fruit of years of work from Google's Pixel team and those from Chrome OS and Android. It should be mentioned that Bison would not be brought to the market as if it were another Chromebook. Android apps on Chrome OS come from the ARC project, while Andromeda is a larger and more ambitious initiative.

It could be more accurate to say that Bison will work with Android more than Chrome OS, and finally be the internal task of Google to publish Andromeda. A laptop that would be ultra slim with a 12,3-inch screen, although it would also have a tablet mode.

It is unknown if Bison will be a convertible device in the style of Yoga from Lenovo or like Microsoft's Surface, although everything tends to think that we would be more like the first due to how thin it is in thickness. Inside it would have an Intel me or i5 processor with 32 or 128 GB of storage and 8 or 16GB of RAM.

It will have a fingerprint sensor, two USB-C ports, a 3,5mm audio jack, a good set of sensors, stylus support, stereo speakers, quad microphones and a battery that will last ten hours. The keyboard will be backlit and the trackpad will use haptic and force detection similar to the MacBook. Google's plan is to fit everything into one 10 mm thickness, one smaller than the mentioned Apple.

The price for Bison would be around $ 799, with the Wacom stylus sold separately, and it would be on the market by the third quarter of 2017. By the time it launches Bison, Google wants to be ready to show Andromeda working in a variety of enterprise apps, from developers and stylus, as a way to create an experience that can rival those of Microsoft and Apple.
