Google Play receives a new section: Free application of the week

Practically since its arrival on the market, it has always been said that in the Apple ecosystem, most applications are paid. We had a clear example when WhatsApp began to be popular among users. In the App Store it had a price of 0,99 euros while in the Google application store it was completely free. But it has not always been this way, especially since a few years ago, when developers have opted for uuse the in-app purchase model for most of your games, although also in applications, everything has to be said.

The Google app store in the United States just received a new section called Free App of the Week, an application that we can download for a week for free. This is possible thanks to the changes that have recently reached Google Play. Until a couple of weeks ago, if a developer made their application free, they could not offer it again for payment after a while, a limitation that prevented many developers from promoting their applications for free for a while, something that can be done in the App Store since its inception.

The first game is War of Cards - Adventure Time, a game that has a regular price on Google Play of 3,99 euros. Casually, Even if you are not in the United States, we can see how the Spanish Google Play is also available for free download. At the moment we do not know if Google intends to expand the scope of this new section, as Apple does with its Free application of the week section, a section that has been in operation for many years, and that every Thursday presents a new application that we can download for free for a week.
