HERE Maps is now called HERE WeGo

here we go

One of the few services that was spared from Nokia's sale to Microsoft were the Finnish company's maps. This map service, which today is still not as popular as Google Maps, is gradually making a gap among users by adding new functions. The guys at Nokia want to relaunch their map application and that better time to do it at the time of year in which many are the people who go on vacation by car, or go for a bike ride, to walk around the city they are visiting ...

The HERE Maps Android app has just been updated adding a few features to make its service more competitive If you want to measure yourself from you to you with the almighty Google Maps. But what is most striking about this update is the name change it has received. It has now been renamed HERE WeGo.

After the new update, the first thing we must select is the means of transport that we want to use to move. As a general rule we are going to use a vehicle, so once we have entered the new address, the application will show us the application faster and without tolls, but it will also show us other routes that include tolls along with the cost of the same and the approximate travel time so that we can compare it with the first route that it has offered us.

This update also allows us to select a bicycle or a shared car as a means of transport, in the places where it is available, offering us the approximate cost of the journey. For it has reached agreements with BlaBlaCar and Car2Go, two services that allow us to share the vehicle to make joint trips in the same vehicle. But if we want to travel by public transport, the application will also offer us the price of the tickets according to the means of transport we select.
