Continuum is the new invention that Microsoft has proposed to us a few days ago, but specifically dedicated for those who are working with their latest operating system, in other words, with Windows 10.
The way this little tool works is something very interesting to analyze, because with it we are offered work under the mode of tablet or personal computer. Despite the fact that there is an official video and a large number of comments about it, so far very few people can use this trick because the operating system has been officially proposed on mobile devices, but more like a trial version.
What does Continuum do when we work with Windows 10?
It is really interesting what this function called Continuum does, same as apparently acts like a small sensor. In the video that we have proposed at the top (which is the one officially launched by Microsoft) we are shown what Continuum may be doing every time the screen (the tablet) recognize the presence or absence of a physical keyboard; We could summarize all this in two simple and simple conclusions:
- When the keyboard is connected to the display, Continuum will make the entire system work like a personal computer.
- When the keyboard is not connected to the display, Continuum will make the display work like a tablet.

Continuum will only work on Microsoft certified tablets, which means that you may not find it on generic tablets where some manufacturers may have installed this version of Windows 10 in an unusual way. You will also not be able to use this Continuum function on desktop computers. for obvious reasons.
What if Continuum doesn't work on my Surface Pro tablet?
Microsoft has anticipated the facts by mentioning that Windows 10 could be installed on certain models of Surface pro so that its users have the possibility to try each of the new features of this operating system. If at a certain moment you connect a keyboard to this tablet with said operating system and the function is not activated, this means that it It is disabled from the Windows registry, There is a solution to be able to solve this case through the following procedure:
- Log in to Windows 10 with the respective access credentials (you can disable the entry of these credentials using the trick we mentioned above).
- Make sure you have installed the latest updates for Windows 10.
- Open the Registry Editor (with Win + R and later by typing "regedit")
- Navigate to the next location.

- Once there, select an empty space with the right mouse button and choose «New> Dword (32-bit) Value«
