How to display hard drive content on Mac

ios-8-continuity

Little by little, due in part to the fact that I am a user of both iPhone and iPad, I am being forced to switch almost "necessarily" to Mac, partly due to the improvements that Yosemite has added in terms of integration with iPhone mobile devices and iPad. With Yosemite, the latest version of the Mac operating system, you can control many functions of our iDevice directly from our Mac, how to make and receive calls, answer sms, share the internet connection of our iPhone with the Mac ...

So much so, in fact, that I recently bought the last MacBook Pro and I am more than satisfied. A fabulous performance together with a screen and speakers of the highest quality. I honestly doubt I'll be replacing this MacBook Pro with another for several years.

One of the things that can draw our attention the most about OS X is that we cannot directly access the content of our computer, with the ease with which we access it from our Windows computer. From Mac, we can without using third-party applications but we have to dig a little. Having access to the information that we have stored on our computer, we can add folders to the Favorites section of the Finder, to access in a more comfortable way, as in Windows.

  • First of all we must go to the Finder.
  • Inside the Finder, we go, in the upper menu bar, to Finder> Preferences.
  • Within preference, we have several options: General, Finder, Sidebar and Advanced. We will stay in the tab that appears by default General.
  • Within General, under the heading Show these items on the desktop, we must select the first option under the heading Hard drives.
  • Just press it, on the desktop the icon of our hard drive will be displayed. If we click on it, the folders that we have installed will appear and we can navigate between them.

If we want to add any of these folders to the Favorites section of our Mac, we just have to drag it to that section, so that we can quickly access its content, without having to navigate through the different menus.
