If at a certain moment you have taken your Windows personal computer to an exhibition and there you start to play a video saved on the hard drive, it will open in its respective window, revealing a large number of elements that are part of the desktop of this operating system.
Under such circumstance, everyone who is watching the video could become distracted by see what's around said window, which generally represent the icons of the shortcuts of the different applications installed on this computer. We have given the example of a simple video, although the situation could change to other types of activities.
Free apps to highlight one window over others in Windows
Someone could even suggest that the video to be played could be presented in "full screen", since this would hide the icons that are part of the elements outside of its window. Depending on the type of need you may have, below we will mention a few suggestions that you can use if you wish. "Empty" the desktop area to show only, a window with a specific project.
We must previously suggest that if your only need is to hide all icons that are part of the desktop Windows, there you would only have to:
- Place the mouse pointer in some empty space on the desktop.

- In the URL space write: about: blank
- Now press the F11 key

With this little trick, the player window will be the only thing that can be seen, while in the background the Internet browser will be present with a white color and no other element that distracts the attention of those who see the screen.

This is a portable tool that you can run on Windows; in its URL you will find versions for different operating systems both in 32-bit as well as 64-bit. Once you run it, a frame will appear that you can modify in its dimension, selecting and dragging any of its corners.

There you will find the icon that this tool belongs to, having to select it with the right button to be able to deactivate its activity and start configuring it according to your convenience. An interface very similar to the one you can see in the upper part is the one that you will surely see, where you can define if you want this area to be circular or rectangular, and you can also change the color of the background. A somewhat interesting addition that this tool offers you is the possibility to choose an image in BMP format, which will practically replace the colored background that we have mentioned.
