Samsung

As Samsung has just officially reported, the multinational company has just reached an agreement with HP through which the latter will will buy your entire printer division in exchange of 1.050 million. According to Samsung, this operation is designed to enable the company to «focus on key business areas»While for HP it means to be able to cause a«disruption in the copier industry«.

As both companies announce, apparently and with this agreement, everyone wins because, while in Samsung seem clearer than ever to the fact that they don't want distractions in their business plan, so that they want to be the best by focusing on various market sectors, for them, key, in HP have managed to strengthen their position of supremacy in a sector of the market where its rivals seem too «small«.

HP wins while rivals like Canon, Epson and Brother fall a bit behind

Among the purchase conditions, which will be completed in the next 12 months, we find that Samsung has agreed to make an investment of between 100 and 300 million additional dollars in HP, as well as the fact that HP acquires some 6.500 patents relating to printers while 6.000 Samsung employees will join HP's workforce, 1.500 of which are engineers dedicated to product development.

One of the keys to the agreement is that thanks to him HP will be able to manufacture one of the key components of its laser printers instead of having to rely on third parties. That, they say at HP, will help boost profit margins and shape the future of their laser printers. As explained by the own Henry Lords, President of HP:

We will have control over key technology. It is very, very important.
