So far HTC Vive doubles sales of Oculus Rift

HTC

The year we just left was the year selected by the manufacturers for virtual reality to become a new way to enjoy games in addition to consuming content. First came Facebook launching the Oculus Rift and later HTC did with its Vive model, model that offers us a higher quality in almost all aspects, and that it is 100 euros more expensive than its maximum competitor. If we leave the two great ones of virtual reality, we only find Sony with the Playstation VR, virtual reality glasses that are only compatible with the PS4 with much lower performance.

At the moment, both the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive are devices that are not available to the public, with a price that exceeds $ 700 with the basic equipment, a price to which we must add a fairly powerful computer if we do not want to suffer cuts or misses during the development of this immersive experience. Since its launch, we have not had sales figures from any of the companies, but it seems that the head of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney has cleared us of doubts claiming that the HTC model far outsells the Facebook Oculus Rift model.

The main reason is the superior quality that it offers us, but the only one, since the Oculus app store limitation it prevents many users from enjoying other games available on other platforms such as Steam, a platform that can be accessed but taking steps that not everyone knows, with whom HTC allied to create the HTC Vive. This limitation of access to more games is another factor that is hurting sales of Facebook virtual reality glasses, something that over time will have to change if they really want to become an alternative to the HTC Vive or want to stay the first exchange out of the market or as a simple second.
