Huawei is working on a flexible smartphone

Samsung folding screen

A few years ago, Samsung showed a video in which we could see the benefits that a smartphone or folding electronic device could offer us. He showed us the benefits because he had already started working on the technology that would allow it. But he's not the only one, Like Samsung, LG has also been working for a few years on a device that can offer us a folding screen to offer the greatest amount of information in the smallest possible space. But it seems that apart from the Koreans, there are other smartphone manufacturers that have been working on it for a while. Huawei has announced that sooner or later it could have a smartphone model with a fully functional folding screen ready.

Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, states that they are currently working on a prototype, but did not specify whether the device he is working on would consist of two separate screens or a single one, stating that the challenge they face is trying to eliminate the available space between them. Currently the main screen manufacturers around the world are LG and Samsung, which is why both companies have been trying for several years to offer serial devices with these types of features.

Huawei does not have factories dedicated to the manufacture of screens, so it is more than likely that the announcement you have made is not related to a flexible screen, as you have wanted to tend, but rather it would be a device with two independent screens although both can jointly display a shared desktop.

We don't know when this technology will be available to the masses, but it seems to me that it is still too early for us to enjoy a smartphone with a folding screen that it can be quickly converted into a tablet, if we consider that the only models we have seen are prototypes that bend slightly without ever completely folding, as in the video I mentioned above from Samsung.
