Huawei announces EMUI 9.0, the biggest update to its Android-based operating system

The Chinese company continues to be among the world's leading brands and a few days ago it unseated Apple from the second place in sales of mobile devices. Now the company is immersed in the IFA in Berlin and announces the arrival of EMUI version 9.0, a major update for the customization layer based on the Android operating system.

As part of the first custom systems based on Android Pie, EMUI 9.0 shows a somewhat less "intrusive" layer than we usually know and this allows the user to have a somewhat superior user experience thanks to the intuitive interface and new functions.

wang chenglu, President of Software Engineering Huawei CBG explained at a press conference at IFA:

Today's smartphones incorporate a host of features that can be overwhelming for ordinary users. For this reason, many have expressed their frustration in dealing with the more complex functions. It is in this context that we are going to develop a version of EMUI. EMUI 9.0 was born from the commitment to create a pleasant, consistent and simple experience. Furthermore, with the release of EMUI 9.0, Huawei becomes one of the first mobile phone manufacturers to introduce a custom operating system based on Android Pie, which I think speaks volumes for our close relationship with Google.

EMUI 9.0 according to Huawei, is designed to help users enjoy a better user experience on their devices and a healthier life taking into account the number of hours we spend fiddling with phones, that is why it presents us with a new Digital Dashboard, which tracks device usage metrics and allows users to set quotas for each application; and Wind Down, which helps users relax before going to bed, along with improvements in the device's power consumption.

For now EMUI 9.0 is currently in beta version, which is now open for registration. Additional features will be released alongside the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 series with all the additional features implemented in this new EMUI, yes, we don't have an official release date beyond the presentation itself. To register and use this beta we simply have to visit its official website.
