On September 7, the Cupertino-based company presented the new iPhone models, AirPods wireless headphones and the second generation of the Apple Watch, a second generation that has brought us as main novelties water resistance and a GPS built into the device. So that the device can make use of GPS without the battery being seriously affected, Apple has taken advantage of this renewal to expand the size of the battery, as officially confirmed by the iFixit guys, after gutting this second generation of Apple Watch from Manzana.

But besides the GPS, which represents an important part in the battery consumption of the device, the brightness of the OLED screen has also been increased in this second generation of the device. As we can see in the images shown by iFixit, the 38-millimeter model, the only one that they have been able to analyze so far, offers us a 273 mAh battery, compared to the 205 mAh of the first generation model.

In addition to the higher capacity battery, the amount of glue to be able to seal the OLED screen to the device's chassis has also been increased in order to offer resistance to water that Apple has implemented in the device. Another novelty that this new generation has brought us is the new speaker, designed so that it can repel water every time we use it while swimming.

At the launch of this second generation, it does not represent a radical change in terms of functions and many are the users who are enjoying the first generation, which they do not plan to upgrade their device to the second generation model, especially if they do not plan to use GPS and resistance to water (submersible up to 50 meters) is completely secondary for them.
