From Mundi Videogames We continue with our series of tutorials so that you get the most out of your consoles and peripherals. We have already guided you so that you know how to connect different console pads to your PC and be able to enjoy your favorite games with the characteristic, ergonomic and advantageous controllers of Sony o Microsoft.
Now it is the turn of the DualShock 3 from the veteran PS3 -although this tutorial is also valid for the sixaxis-, a command that as proof of its potential when playing games, has accompanied us in three generations without changing its external appearance, until the arrival of PS4, where it has been more than conveniently updated. Do not keep your controllers in the drawer, because they can still be used to squeeze the best adventures of your compatible ones.
The process for running in PC both yours DualShock 3 as sixaxis It is very simple and it will only take you a few minutes to have it fully operational:
We will need:
- DualShock 3 or Sixaxis controller
- Mini USB - USB cable
- Download MotioninJoy 0.60005 (32-bit, 64-bit) If you have doubts about which version to download, try the 32-bit version.
Steps to follow:
- Install the MoitoninJoy 0.6.
- Connect the DualShock 3 with the cable to the PC, it will detect it and in a few seconds it will install automatically. The controller lights should blink.
- Open the DS3 TOOL on the desktop.
- Once in the window, we click on Controller Manager. We check that we have the Dualshock 3 and click Install all. The drivers will be installed, and when finished, the remote will vibrate, remaining operational to be used in any game and always having the USB cable connected (be careful, the cable must always be connected to the same USB drive that we have installed on If not, you will have to repeat the installation)
- Now we go up to Quick Start and in Select a mode the idea would be to mark Xbox 360 Simulation and click on Enable.
- Windows should recognize the controller as either MotioninJoy Virtual Game Controller or Xbox 360 Controller. Remember that you will have to configure the keys of the controller for the games.
- Every time we want to play, we simply have to open the DS3 TOOL, connect the USB cable with the DualShock 3 in its corresponding USB drive, check the Xbox 360 Simulation option, click on Enable and we can play. At the end of our game, all we have to do is disconnect the USB cable.
Charging the remote is done in the same way as in PlayStation 3: just connect the USB cable to the pad at the smaller end, while the other would go to the PC. As soon as we do so, the remote control LEDs will start to light, knowing that the four red lights indicate that the battery has been charged at 100% (the first led on translates into 25% of available battery, the second 50% and the third 75%)
