Lenovo has been getting hold of different companies over the years. Perhaps, two of the most popular purchases were the North American Motorola and ThinkPad from IBM. The first laptop model with this name was launched in 1992. And it was marketed with IBM. However, as of 2005, Lenovo entered strongly and took over IBM's laptop computer division. Now the 25th anniversary of that first launch is celebrated and Lenovo wants to pay tribute to such a popular date. It will do it with a very special version: Lenovo ThinkPad 25.
October is the month chosen for the release of this version, although as usually happens, the model has been leaked ahead of time through the german portal WinFuture. And the design and its innards are already known; that is to say, all its technical characteristics. As a summary we can tell you that it is a retro model in design with a trendy heart. But let's see the details.
Firstly, this Lenovo ThinkPad 25 will be based, apparently, on the T470 model. That is, we will have a 14-inch IPS screen with a maximum resolution of 1.920 x 1.080 pixels (Full HD). Now, on the outside there is no lack of nostalgia touches: ThinkPad logo (in colors), the classic trackpoint stick between the keys or the trackpad buttons on the top. Meanwhile, inside we will have a Next-generation Intel Core i7 processor and accompanied by a 16 GB RAM memory. When it comes to storage, the Lenovo ThinkPad 25 will have a 512 GB SSD.
We must also refer to your NVIDIA GeForce 940MX dedicated graphics card with 2GB of video memory. And just as important as the possibility of using LTE connection thanks to its integrated modem. In terms of connections, the Lenovo ThinkPad 25 will have a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 3 support; an HDMI output; several standard USB ports and an SD card reader. Also included is webcam and fingerprint reader compatible with Windows Hello.
Lastly, this laptop it will have a total weight of 1,5 kilograms and a maximum thickness of almost 2 centimeters. Finally, the battery that it includes is replaceable and it is estimated that it will offer a range of up to 18 hours. The price will be discovered next month by the company itself.
