LG Display is part of LG, but more specific for those screens that reach a large number of products of all forms and objectives. LG Display announced in South Korea today a new screen for smartphones with QHD + LCD resolution (1440 x 2880). The LCD panel mounts 564 ppi and to allow for a more complete viewing experience, the screen has an aspect ratio of 18: 9.
This aspect ratio has been used to improve video playback on a smartphone and is mainly due to the fact that this type of content is increasingly in vogue as we can see in all kinds of apps like Facebook, Snapchat or Instagram.
That 18: 9 also allows users to easier to use a dual screen for multi-tasking, a feature available in Android 7.0 that should greatly improve the user experience with a Nougat device.
LG's in-Touch technology also makes the panel extremely responsive. Even the panel is very thin and light thanks to the absence of Touch Cover Glass. Without this item, the panel may become measure up to 1 mm. When compared to the standard QHD resolution LCD, the top bezels have been reduced by 20%, while the sides are 10% thinner.
This new product will also be characterized by improving outdoor visibility and will consume 30 percent less energy. A very important detail, since it is always related to that QHD resolution with an extra consumption of the terminal, so there are still many who resist using a device with that amount of pixels on the screen.
It would be the LG G6 the one who could see for the first time the inclusion of this panel.
