It has been a long time since LG, within the framework of the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, specifically on February 27, presented the LG G6 in a spectacular way. This new mobile device that radically changed from what we had seen with the LG G5 was harshly criticized for its strange design at first glance and especially for mounting somewhat outdated components.
However, with the passage of time, those criticisms have largely ceased, and the compliments have begun to arrive. Even many other manufacturers have copied from LG what was originally a strange design. I criticized it during the presentation of the new terminal of the South Korean company, I have spent 90 days using it and the tables have turned, being very satisfied in almost every way and we could almost say that even starting a great love relationship that could last a long time.
Before starting I have to tell you that for this test I put aside my iPhone 7, which amazes me or rather I was amazed by its size that allowed me to handle it with one hand very easily and its enormous power, in addition to its camera that delivers superb quality images in almost any situation.
The strange design that convinced me from day one
One of the great novelties of the LG G6 was undoubtedly its design, cataloged at first by almost everyone as strange. And it is that with a huge screen, practically without frames that occupies the entire front and with an 18: 9 ratio left almost no one indifferent.
From the first moment I took the LG terminal out of the box, I realized that the screen was not going to be a problem, despite the fact that there are some YouTube videos and a few applications that are not prepared for this relationship of screen, but they don't pose too much of a problem for us on a day-to-day basis. Also, from the first moment you hold the device in your hand, you realize that you are hopelessly falling in love.
Until not long ago, I was a great defender of smartphones with 5.5-inch screens because of the options they gave us, for example, when enjoying multimedia content, but with the passage of time my trend has gone towards the terminals of small dimensions, such as my iPhone 7, which allow me to carry it without discomfort in the front pocket of my pants and also use it with one hand, something that has become essential in my life lately. The LG G6 we could say that it is a large terminal enclosed in a small one.
Although the change could seem traumatic, I have noticed very little difference compared to the size of the iPhone 7, perhaps due to the size ratio, which makes it elongated, but not huge. In addition, the touch of the combination of metal and glass makes it very attractive to the touch, something without a doubt very to take into account.
A camera at the height of the best
Regarding the camera, and despite coming from using an iPhone 7, I had no doubt that the camera of the LG G6 would not leave a bad taste in my mouth, quite the opposite. This certainly helps a lot to have owned an LG G3, an LG G4 and of course a LG G5.
The overall quality of the camera is more than good, being able to compare it with almost any other smartphone camera on the market. In addition, some of its options and features make it one of the most positive aspects of this LG G6.
The double rear camera allows us to have a different lens for each situation. And it is that for short distances we have an aperture of f / 1.8 and OIS, while for longer distances we have the other 125º lens without phase detection or optical stabilizer, with a noise level of f / 2.4.
Perhaps the only one but that could put the LG G6 camera in all this time that I have used it is that the second camera does not have an optical stabilizer, something that is greatly missed in some situations, although without which it is it can survive without too much trouble. Of course, it is true that the times that I have used the second camera could surely be counted with the fingers of the hands.
The manual mode of the camera and some other fun modes put the icing on a camera that gives this LG G6 a huge shine and that has little to envy any other present on the market.
No, the Snapdragon 821 is no problem on a day-to-day basis
At the end of 2016, the launch of the Snapdragon 821 was made official, the processor that the LG G6 mounts and that we had seen in devices like the OnePlus 3T showing great performance. However, LG was harshly criticized for mounting an outdated processor on its flagship, without waiting for the Snapdragon 835 that we would later see in the Samsung Galaxy S8 for example.
Luckily, and Although we do not have a latest model processor, the performance that the LG G6 has offered me has been more than great, without having noticed any problem, not even slowness at specific times or when using a game or application.
Overcome the problem that could be thinking that the Snapdragon 821 is a processor that was not going to measure up, the biggest problem maybe the battery, which once again and as usually happens in most LG mobile devices is no wonder. In my case, that I use the smartphone almost at all hours, I need to be provided with a charger, although it is not something different from what already happened to me with my iPhone 7 or with almost all the devices that I have had.
To get out of the doubt, I did the test that my partner took the terminal, since she does not use it by far the same as I do, being able to reach the end of the day without too many problems, which is really positive for most of users who do not spend the whole day like me with their mobile glued to their hand.
The price of the LG G6 keeps falling
The market price of the LG G6 It was 749 euros, which for almost everyone was too high and more considering the launches that were made simultaneously, with latest-generation components and that had a similar or even lower price.
With the passage of time the price has been falling until it was placed where it should have been from the beginning. That the price goes down does not make a terminal better or worse, but it is good news for all users who have the option of purchasing it at a lower price.
Today it can be purchased on Amazon for 439 euros or what is the same, a simply sensational price for this mobile device, which could face without being too out of tune with any flagship of this year. Perhaps to defeat any high-end device it needs to have an updated processor and internal storage greater than the 32 GB it offers us.
My opinion; I would buy the LG G6 again

On the one hand we find a mobile device with an outstanding design, a screen of enormous quality and a camera at the height of the best. On the other hand, we have a process that could well have been that of any 2016 flagship, but that for most users is not more than enough for day to day.
My experience has been more than positive, without having noticed as I have already said a lack of power or deficiencies in performance, so without a doubt I would recommend the purchase of the LG G6 to anyone who asked me, also taking into account that its price is now more than interesting.
LG must improve some things about this LG G6 if it wants to compete face to face with Apple or Samsung, but without a doubt the South Koreans are on the right track.
