Mazda SKYACTIV-X, the extremely efficient sparkless engine

Mazda presents its new gasoline engine SKYACTIV-X

The Japanese company Mazda it is doing a very good job in the automotive sector. His releases do not leave anyone indifferent. And the latest presentation confirms this fact: their future gasoline engines will have a lower consumption than current diesel.

Christened SKYACTIV-X engines, this new generation of powertrains are the first gasoline with combustion ignition. That is to say, as it would happen in a diesel engine, the ignition will come after the compression in the piston of the mixture of air and gasoline. But what does this new SKYACTIV-X engine offer us?

SKYACTIV-X gasoline compression engine

As the brand itself has commented, the new gasoline engine will have the best of both sectors (diesel and gasoline). Mazda says it will be an engine with good sensations, in addition to being 'eco-friendly'. Compared to current engines (third generation SKYACTIV-G), these new compression engines will have a higher torque delivery (between 10 and 30 percent more).

Likewise, fuel consumption is also important in this regard. These new SKYACTIV-X will consume between 20 and 30 percent less than the current gasoline models. Whereas if it faces diesel engines (SKYACTIV-D) the consumption, at least, will be the same.

On the other hand, Mazda does not forget about the electric market. And he has already assured that in the year 2019 will start the introduction of electric vehicles. And remember that Mazda has a powerful ally in this regard: Toyota. Collaboration with the other Japanese manufacturer will pay off in this regard. In addition, the Toyota group has extensive experience in hybrid and electric vehicles. So Mazda can be well nurtured in this regard.

Finally, in 2020 autonomous driving tests will also begin. The company is currently developing its Co-Pilot Concept. Although the best thing about the ad is wants it to be implemented in all the brand's models by 2025.
