This is the DDoS attack that affected the PlayStation Network, Twitter, PayPal ...

Internet

The IoT, in Spanish as "The Internet of Things" was the main culprit in the DDoS attack that left the PlayStation Network and many more internet systems without service yesterday. And it is that in this way, hackers have wanted us to see how dangerous it is to connect everything to the internet, and open our eyes about the little security that companies are implementing in this type of systems. A security expert (Brian Krebs) has announced that this DDoS attack has been carried out through connected devices with little level of security, for this they have used a malware called Mirai.

These are mainly the ins and outs of the attack that left Twitter running for a couple of hours yesterday, as well as the PlayStation Network gaming system and payment systems like PayPal. They were not the only ones, others such as Amazon, Spotify, Netflix and Reddit joined the list. Constant drops in services due to their servers were being crashed by IoT devices that were infected with the aforementioned malware. It turns out that they are not taking our security seriously enough when it comes to IoT, and action must be taken.

The attack was produced from video players, IP cameras and various products of the same size, especially those manufactured by the company Xiong Mai Technologies, of Chinese origin. For this reason, users must be interested in network security, since it seems that companies offer us the service, but not the keys. In this way, we could compare it to the vehicle that is sold to us without seat belts or airbag, something totally incomprehensible at the time in which we find ourselves. This was just the first warning from hackers, which we do not doubt will be repeated in the coming months.

So is the attack that affected? Wouldn't it be more like this was the attack that affected or this is the attack that affects?
