Microsoft claims that Windows 10 doesn't need any antivirus

Windows 10

Applications to prevent our equipment from being infected by a virus have been with us since the early 90s, although the possible damage they can cause today it is far from what they did in their origins. As technology has evolved, viruses have had offspring in the form of malware, spyware, and more.

Having an antivirus has always been a requirement for all users and only the bravest, entered the Internet without any protection. Windows Defender came to the market hand in hand with Windows 8, being a protection against malware built into the system, but it had many shortcomings. With the release of Windows 10, Windows Defender changed its name.

Currently, Windows Defender Security Center is in charge of managing all the risks that can cause any type of damage to our equipment while we download files from the Internet, we check our mail, we visit a web page ... But it is not the definitive name of this protection system natively integrated in Windows 10, since as of autumn of this year, it will be called Windows Security.

In this way, an open secret is confirmed, that Windows 10 integrates a native antivirus that protects us like any other antivirus currently available on the market, which the company boasts after testing by AV-TEST, the independent institute for IT technology.

According to this test, Windows Defender got the highest possible score in the tests carried out by AV-TEST related to security, in addition to highlighting especially in the number of false positives, one of the main problems that we have always faced with antivirus. In the performance tests, one of the big problems of antivirus programs, as expected and being integrated into the system, Windows Defender obtained a score of 5 out of 6.

If your antivirus is about to expire, you may not a very bad idea trust the native antivirus offered by Windows 1st.
