Microsoft removes Docs.com after a very serious error

Microsoft

If you are a regular at Office, surely on some occasion you have used the search function that Microsoft's own platform offered under the name of Docs.comIn case you don't know what it is exactly, just tell you what it was, if you've read correctly since the American company has decided to eliminate it completely from its famous suite, the platform in charge of sharing documents integrated into the Office itself.

This has followed complaints from many users that their personal files and other information had apparently been exposed via Twitter. These complaints have been enough and above all very constant throughout the weekend. As stated by them, apparently the integrated search engine could access documents and files hosted on the web that, depending on your configuration, should remain private.

Microsoft's Docs.com platform has published thousands of documents with sensitive information about its users.

Apparently and according to what has been revealed, among the exposed information were, for example, letters of acceptance of jobs, divorce agreements, investment portfolios, statements of accounts associated with credit cards, lists of passwords ... even some of these documents could Include private and personal information such as telephone numbers, postal addresses, email addresses, driver's licenses and even social security numbers.

At the moment Microsoft, although it eliminated this option last Saturday, has not yet released any type of press release or anything similar to explain what happened to this search engine. Even so, it is also true that the company has acted quickly to try to correct this tremendous error as soon as possible.
