Monetizing videos on YouTube will be a bit more complicated

Sell Tickets on YouTube

For a long time YouTube is tightening the requirements to enter the Partner Program. Already last year they introduced a rule by which it is necessary to have at least 10.000 visits totals on the channel to be able to access it. Now, new measures are introduced that make monetizing content a bit more complicated.

Thanks to the new changes, users will have to have 1.000 subscribers and at least 4.000 hours of viewing by those subscribers. These rules seem to only apply to those users who want to be part of the Partner Program and thus seek to monetize their videos with advertising.

Even if, YouTube has confirmed that these rules will also affect the members of said program. As of February 20 they will also apply to them. In fact, if by that date you do not meet the requirements, YouTube could kick you out of the show. So you would stop being able to put advertising on your videos.

YouTube

The idea of the web is that in this way the contents are better and only those channels with content that are worthwhile and that make an effort can monetize this content. Not only the size of the channel is decisive. There are also aspects such as public participation or owner behavior.

In addition, the company has announced that they will monitor the content very closely. So it seems that these measures come after the controversy that YouTube has lived with the American YouTuber who posted a video mocking a person who had committed suicide in Japan.

The web has been stricter with channel owners for a while now. It is no longer so easy to be able to monetize the videos that are uploaded on that channel. Something that has led them to have problems with some famous youtubers. Although, it seems that with these measures they seek that sOnly those content that are worthwhile can earn income.
