Movado, Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger to launch smartwatches with Android Wear 2.0

TAG Heuer

As the interest of some manufacturers in smartwatches declines and they abandon the manufacture of this type of device, other manufacturers are becoming interested in this market that has not just taken off, according to the sales figures for this type of wearables. TAG Heuer was the first watchmaking company to opt for this technology and It seems that it is working quite well, despite the fact that the only model available costs just over 1.350 euros, since a few weeks ago it announced that it was already working to launch a new model on the market. But it is not the only one, since Movado, another longtime manufacturer, Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss have also announced the next launch of smartwatches under their name.

Movado has published a statement in which it states that it will launch a series of smartwatches with Android 2.0, devices that will start at $ 495 and are available in five different models. All of them will offer us the exclusive classic spheres of the company, spheres that will also offer us different complications, one of the novelties of Android Wear 2.0 but which were already available on watchOS since its launch. Regarding the finishes or the materials used, the company has not offered information in this regard.

In this same statement, intended for the shareholders of the company, we can also read that the firms Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss, which are part of the same group, also plan to work hand in hand with Google to launch its first collections of smartwatches next fall, smartwatches that will probably also offer exclusive dials that we can customize with the complications that best suit us. On March 23, the Baselworld is celebrated in Switzerland, a most important watchmaking fair, and where perhaps these manufacturers can offer more information or a prototype of how these devices will be.
