You can now request Movistar to double the speed of your fiber

In recent years, the main operators are dedicating themselves to raise the price of your rates unialterally, with the only justification of raising both the GB of the rates and the speed of Internet connection. Movistar is the company that has this ugly habit, a custom that many users end up accepting so as not to get involved with operator changes.

At the end of December last year, Movistar announced that it planned to double the speed of all fiber clients (ADSL clients cannot increase their speed due to the limitations it offers). This doubling of speed affected all clients with the 50 MB rate and the 300 MB rate. The speed increase is theoretically free, but it is camouflaged in the price of convergent rates.

After the announcement, the company had not commented on the matter again, until a few days ago, since the CNMC had to approve them. That date has arrived and Movistar has begun double the speed to all clients who have already requested it directly from the servers, since being fiber, it is capable of moving speeds greater than 1 GB, without any problem.

Clients with a speed of 300 MB will become 600 MB, while users with 50 MB will become 100 MB. In all cases, we are talking about symmetrical speeds, although there is really no operator that really offers us these speeds in a symmetrical way, no matter how much they insist on affirming it.

Movistar has started to increase speed immediately to all those users who request it through 1004, or through the portal that Movistar makes available to its customers to carry out any management with your rate.
