New Raspberry Pi 3 Model B +: more speed and 5 GHz Wi-Fi

In recent years, the Raspberry Pi has become one of the cheap microcomputers that offer us the most possibilities when it comes to automating devices or creating devices that perform tasks automatically or remotely controlled. Far from dying of success, the Raspberry has been evolving and the third generation improved.

The new Raspberry Pi 3 Model B +, hence it is considered a third generation vitaminized and not the fourth, it offers us a higher processor speed, going from 1.2 of the previous model launched in 2016 to 1,4 of the current model. But it is not the only important novelty that we find in this device.

Another of the important improvements that we see in this Plus model is found with the Wi-Fi connection, now dual-band, ideal to be able to make the most of the 5 GHz connections, a connection that offers higher connection speed although its range is more limited than that offered by the 2,4 GHz connection. Another improvement, although it is not to throw rockets, is the bluetooth version, which goes from 4.1 of the previous model to 4.2, a pity who have not implemented version 5.0.

Regarding the rest of the features, both models share both the number of ports and connections, offering us 4 USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, a microSD card reader, and an Ethernet network connection, a connection that has also been expanded and now supports up to 300 Mbps, for 100 of its predecessor. The amount of RAM remains the same, 1 GB.

The price of the Raspberry Pi 3 Model + is 39,99 euros and it is available in the main online stores where we can find this type of product, and among which stands out PC Components.
