Today no more and no less than 10 years ago that Steve Jobs held in his hands the first iPhone in history, to present it officially and open a new era in the mobile phone market. Of course, for all of you who do not have a good memory, we must remind you that that iPhone, despite being presented on January 9, 2007, did not reach the market until June.

The now-defunct Steve Jobs defined the new device from those from Cupertino as an "iPod with a panoramic screen and touch controls that was going to revolutionize the world of mobile phones." Ten years later things have changed a lot, but the essence of that iPhone is still very present.

iPhone Keynote 2007

Below you can see my Keynote of the Year 2007 in which the first iPhone in history was officially presented, which had an introduction, which ended with words that all or almost all of us have engraved in our memory; Today is a day that I have been waiting for two and a half years.

The entire Keynote in which the great protagonist was Steve Jobs was full of great moments and phrases that have remained for history.

Today we are going to present three revolutionary products. The first, a panoramic iPod with touch control; the second, a revolutionary mobile phone; the third, a breakthrough communication device on the Internet.

10 curiosities about the iPhone Edge

To remember what the first iPhone in history was like, we are going to show you 10 curiosities about this mobile device that undoubtedly marked a before and after, not only for Apple, but for all humanity.

EDGE or 2G

Obviously we are talking about the year 2007 and there was only EDGE or 2G, which was terribly slow compared to today's 4G or 3G.

The App Store didn't exist yet

Nowadays, every time we need an application we go to the App Store to find it. Nevertheless In the first iPhone we had to settle for the applications that came pre-installed and the application store did not exist 10 years ago. Furthermore, it was never an idea Steve Jobs liked, although he had to surrender to the clear evidence that the iPhone needed to have a store from which to download a good number of applications.

The black above all

The first iPhone as we can see in the images in this article was not completely black as far as its design is concerned, but the only wallpaper available was totally black. Unfortunately for everyone, that fund could not be exchanged for another.

The vertical position, the only one available

It has been almost 10 years since the official presentation of the first iPhone, and since then an infinity of new functionalities have been incorporated, including being able to write or view videos on our device in a vertical position.

Copy and paste

Spinning with the above, you have to know how curious that the first iPhone in history did not allow any user to copy and paste, something that today is more than basic and yet Apple took no more and no less than three years to include in its operating system.

The camera left a lot to be desired

It was 10 years ago when the iPhone Edge was officially presented, and that a mobile phone had a built-in camera was undoubtedly something of the latest. However, the first Apple iPhone had a camera that left much to be desired and that is it only had 2 megapixelss.

Obviously comparing the camera of this iPhone with that of the current iPhone 7 is a reckless act, but perhaps we should all realize it to see what has improved the quality of cameras and in general of mobile devices in just 10 years .

Steve Jobs

You needed a computer

It is striking, but it took five years for anyone who bought an iPhone could stop depending on a computer to configure an iPhone. It took Apple to realize the mistake they were making, but they finally realized it and solved it.

The videos did not exist

Lthe camera, let's not forget it, had 2 megapixels, it only allowed taking pictures and of course it didn't allow us to take videos. That option took time to reach the iPhone, but it was to stay permanently.

The price was excessive

The price at which the iPhone Edge hit the market was U.S. dollar 499, which if we compare it with the iPhone of today was without a doubt ridiculous, but it is that 10 years have passed and without a doubt that first iPhone was not the iPhone of today.

Paying $ 499 for an iPhone with a 2 megapixel camera and 4 GB of internal storage was undoubtedly excessive. Of course, if you have one, almost certainly you will get more money if you sell it and vintage is in fashion, and there are more and more collectors around the world.

It was never sold in Spain

The first iPhone was only sold in the United States and a few counted countries in Europe. Among those that was not Spain, where it was never sold in an official way, that yes in the second-hand market many of us were able to have the first iPhone in history in our hands.

It has been 10 years since Apple, hand in hand with Steve Jobs introduced the first iPhone in history, which forever changed the mobile phone market, and also partly changes each and every one of us who enjoy the first iPhone. Later came many other mobile devices of the bitten apple, which have revolutionized history and we fear that they will continue to do so.

3G networks already existed. And devices too. All manufacturers, LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, had 3G models. It took Apple a year to adopt the qualcomm chip that integrated Wi-Fi, 3G, and Bluetooth into one.
