Penflip, a simple collaborative Online Text Editor

penflip

Penflip is an interesting alternative that we could use on the web, a tool that will help us to elaborate simple texts, somewhat more complicated documents and even literature to be able to share with a certain select public.

Nowadays, the cloud space has become one of the main elements for host any type of information, the one that we have a web application as it is penflip It can be a great idea to complement our activities in this environment. In order to access this service, all we need to do is subscribe our data to open an account, which is completely free.

Getting started with Penflip to edit our first documents in the cloud

As we mentioned before, in order to be part of this project called penflip and start writing different types of texts (or advanced literature), we just have to register our data to obtain a free account; Given that nowadays social networks have spread throughout the planet, perhaps the subscription should have considered this aspect, since many cloud services offer the possibility of opening an account associating it with a social network, same that could be Facebook, Twitter or Google+. In any case, respecting the policies of its developer, we will propose to open a free account of this service.

After we have registered our data through the respective form of penflipWe will receive an email where you will be informed about said subscription, not being necessary to click on some type of link to verify it; In the first window (which would become the welcome one) we will find 3 options to choose from, these being:

  • Start a project. As mentioned by its developer, in this area a person could write their projects, something that could include a simple blog or specialized electronic books.
  • Invite collaborators. We can even make invitations to people who work on our project, who would also have the possibility of modifying what we have done, all with a collaborative tint for a common good.
  • Discover projects. This is a very interesting area, because if we don't know how to start a project in penflip We could try to explore a few others that have already been created before, this to serve as a guide to what we will begin to do here.

The circles that you can admire towards the left side of each proposal are actually little boxes to activate. In the one that suggests the invitation to collaborators, once it is activated we will jump to another browser tab and specifically, to our Twitter profile, where we should place an allusive message so that they can see all our contacts and friends, proposing that they take advantage of our project to work together on it.

By clicking on the first option we will jump to another window, where we will be proposed to make a simple and simple text document, or also a new book with specialized information; In any of these 2 options that we choose, we will have the possibility to control the privacy of each of the projects.

In any of the 2 options that we choose, we will be shown the same interface, being the content that we come to integrate in each one of them, the one that will differentiate them; towards the right side a small sidebar is proposed, where we will have the possibility of:

  • Edit our project.
  • Have a preview of what we are doing and getting.
  • Save or save the project.
  • Share the project with our friends.
  • A gray button to close the project.

Once we close our project we will find another interface, where we will have the possibility of reviewing all those that we have been developing and working on; from this interface we could open any of the ones we have created to continue working on them. A good guide that we can use from this same interface is in the upper bar, where «Discover» will help us to review the projects of other users of this service penflip.
