Philips also has a monitor with 8k resolution

A few months ago, my colleague Miguel spoke about the Dell UltraSharp, a monitor with an 8k resolution, a resolution that today is still far from becoming commonplace in many homes, but not in professional environments. Now it is Philips who has presented a new monitor with 8k resolution, a monitor with an IPS panel, 31,5 inches and a resolution of 7.680 x 4.320 pixels, the same resolution and inches as the model from the American firm Dell. The price of this new monitor for professional environments It has not yet been made public, but it is very likely that it is close to the $ 5.000 that the Dell model counts.

This 8k resolution monitor from Philips, which goes by model number 328P8K, offers us a 400 nit brightness level, 1.300: 1 contrast ratio, 60 Hz refresh rate and it is perfectly compatible with AdobeRGB and SRGB. In terms of connections, the 328P8K has 2 Display Port 1.3 ports in addition to a HUB with USB type A and type C connections. The launch of this monitor is scheduled for the first quarter of next year, so if we are in a hurry to get a monitor of this type, we will have to opt for the Dell model for now.

These types of monitors are ideal for those who work not only with video, but also in the photography sector, since it allows us to enlarge areas of the images practically without losing resolution along the way. Monitors with 4k resolution, little by little, are beginning to be an alternative in the market, but there are still a few years to go before they become commonplace in many homes. We just have to check the use we make of our PC, where unless we have special needs, we are not going to take full advantage of it, and less to one with 8k resolution.
