Last week Nintendo launched almost without warning Pokémon GO, a game that combines increased reality with hunting Pokémon in our environment. At its launch it was only available in three countries: the United States, Australia and New Zealand, but at the end of this week, the Japanese company Nintendo has expanded the number of countries to England, Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal.

It is staggered in the launch is because the company had to expand the number of servers for the service will not crash by adding more countries to play from. But it seems that the effort that the company has made in this regard has been collapsed by a denial of service attack, known as DDoS.

For several hours, Pokémon GO players have been everyone is having trouble accessing the game. In most cases, the game tells us that it has been able to connect with our account. In others, the game informs us that the servers are busy and that we must try again in a few minutes.

In the official account of Pokémon GO, we can see how the company has posted a tweet in which they report that they are suffering a DDoS attack. A DDoS attack consists of making a large number of requests all at the same time so that the servers cannot accommodate all of them and the service drops. Apparently the culprits of this DDoS attack are hackers called PoodleCorp.

We do not know the intentions of this group of hackers, but hopefully Nintendo will put a solution soon to avoid future attacks of this type, especially now that the holidays are coming and the fans of this game will have a lot of free time to enjoy Pokémon GO. We will inform you with more news.

Minutes before publishing this article, I have tried two different Wi-Fi networks with different results. In a I was able to access although the connection was very slow and in the other it still tells me that it cannot connect with my account. With the data connection it told me that it could not connect with my account either.
