PS4 Pro goes to scale by supersampling in version 5.50

The operating systems of the game consoles are becoming more and more important, it is logical considering that lately they have become simple compact computers designed by and to play video games. If we now add the social and online factor of consoles, it is obvious that companies invest, and not infrequently, in software.

Sony knows this well, and is constantly working on improving the firmware of the PlayStation 4 in any of its variants, the example is the firmware 5.50 of the PlayStation 4 Pro whose most relevant novelty is that it starts to scale the resolution it offers by supersampling.

In Poland you can already activate the supersampling with patch 5.50.

As you well know, the PlayStation 4 Pro is in theory capable of working on a panel at 4K UHD resolution, the problem is when we do not have panels of those resolutions, but nevertheless we do have the necessary hardware, such as the game console in question. Now it includes a new image rescaling system called supersampling that will allow us to enjoy the closest thing to 4K quality on a television that, however, cannot really offer us more than a Full HD resolution, which as you well know is 1080p, a resolution more than worthy but insufficient for the most gourmets of the genre.

This update is in the testing phase so it has not yet reached all users or countries, it is logical. This system was already present in Xbox One X, Microsoft's console has been praised by critics for the way it is executed for this type of task despite the fact that it has not fully won the approval of buyers, who in reality is the most important ... right? Of course, Sony warns that this can negatively affect the FPS of video games, it will be necessary to decide.
