TWS headphones for PS5? Soundcore has the solution, the VR P10

We all know precisely the restrictions that Sony imposes for PS5 and PS4 accessories. If you want to use small headphones to chat, you have no choice but to connect them through a 3,5-millimeter Jack connection, or bet on a multitude of compatible wireless alternatives, but not for that reason cheap.

Soundcore has launched the Wireless VR P10, a headset designed for comfort while we use our VR glasses or play PS5. Discover with us this very interesting alternative that has reached the European market thanks to Anker's audio subsidiary. Is it really worth it?

As on many other occasions, we invite you to our youtube channel, a place where you can not only see many interesting gadget reviews like this, but where you can see the unboxing and complete configuration of these Soundcore Wireless VR Earbuds.

Covering a gaming need

These Soundcore headphones come to fill a gap that many gamers have completely empty. When we are playing on PS5 and we decide to chat with our friends at the same time, it is recommended that we use our headphones. However, There are many video games that do not require such intensity and precision, such as sports.

In that case we usually prefer to use earbuds, whose only option is to connect old-fashioned wired headphones to the PS5 controller. And I wouldn't be surprised if many of you techies don't own headphones like this.

Thus, Soundcore wanted to easily solve this issue, launching headphones that are Designed mainly for the Meta Quest 2 VR glasses, but with full compatibility with PS4 and PS5.

In this way we will be able to listen and chat at the same time in our gaming sessions, but we must not forget that they are full-fledged TWS headphones, that is, we can also listen to music quietly in them.

Materials and design

Soundcore (by Anker) It is characterized by offering alternatives of good construction and a striking design. Without a doubt, these headphones attract attention, not so much because of their static design but because of the number of LED lights that their case and the headphones themselves house. Something that is not that we can say that surprises us considering that they are “gaming” headphones.

The case is large but comfortable. With a front opening and a matte finish that will preserve its condition for longer. It has an LED on the front and the typical connection button on the back.

PS5 headset

  • Colour: White and silver
  • IPX4 resistance

The same goes for headphones. that follow the design dynamics of the charging case. In this sense, we have 3 pads that adapt to our needs and a USB-C charging cable of a fairly moderate size.

The case's charging port is USB-C, as we might expect. We have no trace of wireless charging

Audio technical characteristics

To improve the performance of the headphones, Soundcore has decided to equip the headphones with a low latency processor (below 30ms) of our own manufacture. This will ally with the 11 mm drivers that we already know about the brand, very similar to those that we can find in other models such as the Liberty Pro 3.

  • Audio analysis: We differentiate a large part of the instruments quite easily without any problem. At stake, we have a great contrast between different sounds, something that is appreciated. We have a solid base of media, which will make the most commercial music shine, but which have improved a lot compared to previous editions of Soundcore, especially dedicated to extolling the bass, ideal for reggaeton or trap that is so abundant today. In game, some enveloping coverage is missing, but they defend extremely well,

In this line, they take advantage of the audio transmission through the LC3 codec, hand in hand with different presets that adapt the performance of the headphones to the needs of each user.

All this customizable, how could it be otherwise, via app available both iOS as if to Android. Once the application is installed, we will be able to customize the dongle included with the device (which we will talk about below), allowing us to switch between different devices, being able to add more than one and even assigning sound presets.

As for the microphone, In my tests I have been able to verify a clear and efficient sound transmission, which is not far from what any other headset on the market designed for gaming can offer.

Technical characteristics

We now enter the juiciest topic. These headphones have a USB-C "dongle" that allows you to bypass Bluetooth transmission to low latency 2,4GHz transmission in a single second. Once we have configured it in the application it is practically Plug&Play and that is appreciated.

PS5

I have not been able to detect latency in daily use for low-demand games such as FIFA 23. For obvious reasons, playing Call of Duty or Harry Potter: Howarts Legacy has not been proposed to me as an alternative, but I have no doubt that they would defend themselves. good.

We can buy more than one dongle separately, allowing us to toggle between Meta Quest 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, PC and other platforms fully supported. Without a doubt, they are positioned as a very versatile and comfortable alternative.

Thus, Soundcore promises between 6 and 24 hours of playback, depending on the type of connectivity chosen, with 2,4GHz connectivity being the most beneficial for autonomy, where we have been able to observe sessions of around 15 hours on a single charge. .

Editor's opinion

The conclusions arrived, and it is that these headphones are at only 78 euros on Amazon, and a similar price on the official website of Soundcore. They are not expensive to be TWS headphones with this technology, nor cheap to be headphones with which to chat while we play. However, they come to fill a void where no one has ever wanted to contribute news, and in my case they have become an essential accessory for my PS5.
