Qualcomm reveals the details of the Snapdragon 835 chip

Snapdragon 835

Every year we have the arrival of a new chip from Qualcomm which will be integrated into the flagships of most manufacturers throughout the year. Last year it was precisely the Snapdragon 820/821 that was implemented in those Galaxy S7, LG G5 and other star products of the different brands.

The Snapdragon 835 is the new chip from Qualcomm and this would be revealed at CES from Las Vegas that would be almost about to start. This company was reluctant to reveal most of the information concerning this SoC, but thanks to a leak today, we have the details of the 835.

Manufactured by Samsung with the 10nm architecture, the Snapdragon 835 chip will offer 27% improved performance over the Snapdragon 820, while using less power than the latter.

The X16 LTE modem on the Snapdragon 835 chip is the first to have an LTE modem gigabit class. The leak also tells us that the chip will have Kryo 280 cores. The Adreno 540 GPU supports 60 times more colors than the brand's recent chips, with even 25 percent faster rendering. As regards video, there is support for 10-bit, 4K and 60 FPS video playback with DirectX 12, OpenGL ES and Vulkan graphics.

With this new chip, you can see more space for larger batteries, cameras with a faster focus and Quick Charge 4. The latter will allow the batteries to charge 20% faster than Quick Charge 3. This could mean that 5 minutes charging the smartphone would give the user an extra 5 hours of battery life. To have the mobile half charged, we only need it to be connected to the load for 15 minutes.

This chip can be seen in the first round of ships insignia as are the LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8.
