Despite the launch of Apple Music, which after a year on the market already has 15 million subscribers, Swedish firm Spotify has also seen an increase in the number of paying subscribers almost the same figure as its rival. And to achieve this, the company has been launching new functions to attract more users, especially those from other platforms who are not quite comfortable with the operation of the applications that are available in the different mobile and desktop ecosystems. The music recommendation system has always been one of the most important points of streaming music services, since it allows us to find new music according to our musical tastes.

Spotify has just launched a new feature called Radar that allows us to find content almost automatically. Its operation is similar to that of the weekly recommendations But unlike this one, Radar is based on new releases that hit the market or on songs that have been heard on occasion but is not among our favorite artists or groups.

Radar us create a weekly two-hour playlist that is automatically renewed every Friday, so that we will always have new music to listen to on Spotify, music that will allow us to expand the repertoire of songs and groups or artists that we like.

This function is progressively reaching all users, so it may not yet be available in some countries. When it is available we can find it inside just above the playlists. Each new playlist that Radar offers us, we can talk or customize it by adding or removing new songs according to our tastes.
