Windows

On July 29 will be one year since Microsoft officially presented Windows 10, the new version of the popular operating system from the Redmond-based company, which has achieved enormous success in the market. However, if you need more information about the advisability or inadvisability of updating, you can discover them through this website, where despite encountering several drawbacks of updating to the new operating system, the vast majority of users are in favor of updating .

If you still have doubts, today we are going to offer you 5 reasons to update to Windows 10 without thinking too much, but remember that to be able to do it for free, you must install the update, if you now have Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 installed, before the July 29, which will be the last day it is offered for free.

The Start menu is back

Windows 10

In an inexplicable way Microsoft eliminated with Windows 8 the Start menu that we knew until then, trying to introduce new features in it, which did not convince almost anyone. With Windows 8.1 in Redmond they already tried to improve this fundamental part of their operating system and they succeeded to a great extent, although until the arrival of Windows 10 they did not succeed perfectly.

The Windows 10 Start menu is a return to the origins, although Microsoft has wanted to continue including those known as Live Tiles, to which with a little patience you can get a lot out of it.

If one of the reasons for not making the leap to Windows 10 was the Start menu that you like so much and that convinces you of Windows 7, think no more and it is that the new version of the operating system has greatly improved in this regard and you will not find too many defects or differences, but advantages.

Speed and stability, two of the great flags of Windows 10

Windows 10 has many features to boast about, but certainly two of the most important are the speed and stability. As soon as you take your first steps with the new Microsoft operating system, you can realize that we are almost certainly facing the fastest and most stable software created by the guys at Satya Nadella.

The new version of the operating system is not only capable of offering us an almost perfect performance, but also eable to be very fast at all times even on devices with not too many features. Windows 7 was the perfect operating system for almost every kind of device, but with the arrival of Windows 10 on the market, it has become the perfect software for any type of device, no matter how old it is.

Microsoft Edge, the perfect replacement for Internet Explorer

Microsoft Edge logo

To date, there was no version of the Windows operating system in which Internet Explorer had not been present, so criticized by a large number of users around the world for its slowness and its continuous failures and problems with which it surprised us. Microsoft has decided to shelve all this matter and for this with the arrival of Windows 10 it has also decided to release Microsoft Edge, the new web browser that we find installed natively in the new operating system.

Although it is still under development, we are already facing one of the best web browsers on the market, due to its simplicity, the speed it offers us compared to other browsers, the options it offers us and above all the saving of resources that it offers compared to other browsers such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

The road is still very long for Microsoft Edge, but in Windows 10 we will no longer need to install another web browser as it used to be in other versions of the Windows operating system where Internet Explorer was more of a problem than a positive.

Windows 10 and universality

With Windows 10 Microsoft has proposed that this be universal, something like a unique one, to dominate them all. This will mean that the applications designed for the new operating system will function identically in any of the different versions of the software and regardless of the device where they are run.

At the moment the universal apps There are not many available for download, but over time they do grow and some of the most important on the market have already launched their universal application for Windows 10. This means that those of us who have fully entered the Microsoft ecosystem, we can use the same application on our smartphone, Xbox One console or computer.

For example, any user begins to work through Word on their computer, they can continue with their work, at the exact point where they left it on their smartphone and finish it through their Xbox One console, where of course Windows 10 has also arrived .

Cortana

Microsoft

Cortana is Microsoft's virtual assistant that had already been released on mobile devices with Windows Phone some time ago and that now reaches all kinds of devices thanks to Windows 10. This voice assistant has also become the first of all in making its premiere on a computer, with the advantages that this implies.

Installed the new version of the Microsoft operating system any user can control the computer through Cortana and also get a great deal out of it by, for example, using a smartphone with Windows 10 Mobile operating system.

From my experience I can only say that I will never update to Windows 10, I am a computer technician and not a week goes by without us bringing a computer with failed updates to W10, or with performance drops as a result of the automatic system update. And it is that with this system you can have 2 cases, that the installation is perfect and that the drivers catch you perfectly, or quite the opposite, there is no middle ground. Also I do not see why people should update, what happens W7, 8.1, Vista or XP have stopped being functional? As much as they have wanted to kill XP they have not succeeded and with 7 the same will happen, also when they are killed the alternative is clear, LINUX.
