Russia fines Google 6,75 million for Android apps

Android

The ever-increasing garbage populates our mobile devices even before they have been opened. Google natively installs many applications related to its services on devices that have its operating system. Applications that end up being duplicated, since companies like Samsung have agreements with Dropbox or WhatsApp and then we find ourselves at the same time with Google Drive or Hangouts, occupying memory unnecessarily, especially when it comes to a service that almost nobody uses. Russia has wanted to put a little remedy to this, fining Google 6,75 million dollars for applications pre-installed on devices.

Google and Android are not without problems with antitrust in Europe, where it is being hit the hardest. The FAS (Russian Federation Antimonopoly Service) has imposed a millionaire fine on the Google guys due to these applications that Google pre-installs on all devices that run Android, whatever the brand or the user's need, such as when they forced you to create yourself a Google Plus account if you wanted to enjoy Google services in general, like YouTube. The reality is that they are measures that Google should not take, because it does not lack users, but wanting to make its services great at the cost of blackmail does not seem entirely ethical to me.

Yandex is an important competitor of Google in Russia, a Google-style company, which has the most popular search engine in Russia and at the same time manufactures mobile devices, a clear competitor, whom the Russian government wants to benefit, which in football is known as "a home referee." For Google, this fine is small change, however, according to FAS calculations, it is 15% of what Google earned in Russia in 2014. Another blow to Google's monopoly in Europe.
