Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, duel of the titans

Samsung

For many months we have been able to read and listen to an enormous amount of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which has already been officially presented, confirming its name that at first surprised almost all of us and its characteristics and specifications, which have not left almost anyone with their mouths open for different and varied reasons, which of course we are going to review in this article.

Now that we know the new flagship of the South Korean company, the time has come to start with the comparisons, and to begin with we have decided to confront the Samsung giant with the great reference of the market, which is none other than its little brother? , the Galaxy edge S7. Welcome to Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, a true duel of titans of two of the best terminals in the mobile phone market.

Before starting it is important to remember that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has been sold on the market for a long time, and that at the next Mobile World Congress we will officially see the Samsung Galaxy S8, and that in the coming weeks the Galaxy Note 7 in an official way on the market.

Design; two undoubtedly precious terminals

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Vs Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung has managed in recent times to surpass itself, improving the design that it has shown us in the different smartphones that it has been launching on the market. Its last two releases, the Galaxy S7 Edge and the Galaxy Note 7 we could say that they have the same design, simply great and achieved down to the last detail.

Both terminals differ mainly in their size, and is that the screen of the Galaxy Note has 5.7 inches, by the 5.5 inches of the Galaxy Edge. From that difference we only find similarities in almost all aspects, saving the area of the Note that houses the S-Pen, one of the hallmarks of the Samsung phablet.

Finally, as far as design is concerned, we must highlight the presence in the lower part of the Galaxy Note 7 of the USB Type-C connector, which replaces the Type-B one that the Galaxy S7 Edge brings.

If we place the two terminals next to each other, we will see very few differences in terms of design, although we will surely see even fewer differences when we put the Samsung Galaxy S8 on the table.

Screen

The screens of the Galaxy Note 7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge are practically identical, since they have the same curves and use the same technology, although as we have seen previously, they differ in their size and size. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 incorporating the newest member of the Galaxy Note family.

This is the first terminal that is presented on the market with this type of protection, which offers us greater resistance, mainly to avoid that in the event of any fall the screen may end up shattered or with a more than obvious mark.

As for the resolution of the screen, it is exactly the same, although as normal due to the larger size of the Note 7 screen, the number of pixels per inch is reduced. Despite this detail, we are facing two almost identical screens, which will offer us outstanding results.

Software and performance

Regarding the software that both terminals have installed and the performance that they offer us, it is very similar because we are facing two devices that we could say are almost identical.

In the first place both in the Note 7 and in the Galaxy S7 Edge we find the same processor; or a Snapdragon 820 or an Exynos 8890, an equal amount of RAM and internal storage that is similar.

Samsung Galaxy S7 edge

Regarding the software in both terminals we find the Android operating system, in version 6.0, although in the case of Note 7 the version is somewhat more advanced. In both cases we are already waiting for the arrival of the new Android 7.0 Nougat that we hope will not be delayed too much as it has happened on other occasions with Samsung devices.

The capable of customization ToucWiz does not miss the appointment neither the Galaxy S7 Edge nor the Galaxy Note 7, although in the latter it has an improved version installed, which yes, will not offer us too many improvements compared to what we find in the S7. It is expected that this new improved version of the customization layer will soon begin to reach other mobile devices of the South Korean company.

Camera, perfection is still there

The camera of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has not offered us any novelty or new function and it is exactly the same as the one mounted on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and of which we already knew its capabilities in the analysis we made of the Samsung flagship.

As the South Korean company did with the Galaxy Note 5, which was never seen in Europe, they have decided to mount the same camera as in their flagship, ensuring a good result when taking images, and more if possible of the good opinions that the Galaxy S7 camera received, which many place as the best camera on the market present in a mobile device.

Battery

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery is something that caught the attention of all of us who followed the presentation of this new phablet. And is that most manufacturers take advantage of the large size of this type of terminal to incorporate a battery that offers us greater autonomy. However, this is not the case with the new Galaxy Note as it has a smaller battery in terms of mAh than the Galaxy S7 Edge.

The battery of the new Galaxy Note 7 goes up to 3.500 mAh, while that of the Galaxy S7 Edge surpasses it reaching 3.600 mAh. With the arrival of the S7 on the market, Samsung was able to greatly improve the problem it had with the battery and managed to equip its terminal with a battery that was up to the task. The Note 7 is presented with 100 mAh less than the Galaxy S7, but nobody or almost nobody doubts that autonomy is more than assured and we can enjoy a great autonomy without any problem.

Yes, I think We will never have an answer to the reason why Samsung did not take advantage of the greater space of the Galaxy Note 7 to provide it with a larger battery and with more autonomy of which we can find in the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Price and conclusion

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

At the moment we do not officially know the price of the new Galaxy Noye 7, although we can imagine that in the case of two practically identical terminals, the price could be very similar to the one that the Galaxy S7 Edge had at the time of its release on the market.

Taking into account that the price of both terminals will be very similar, we must not forget that with the Note 7 we will have some options and functions available that we do not have with the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Regarding the conclusions, we must say that in this duel it is difficult to choose one or the other mobile device. And it is that we are facing two identical terminals in terms of hardware and performance. The only differences that we find are the size of the screen, as well as the role that the S-Pen plays.

Depending on each user and especially on their needs, the winner of this duel for each of you who read this article may be different. In my case, if I had to opt for one, it would undoubtedly be the Galaxy Note 7 for its screen somewhat larger than that of the Galaxy S7 Edge and especially for the S-Pen.

Who is for you the winner of this duel between the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and the recently introduced Samsung Galaxy Note 7?. Give us your opinion in the space reserved for comments on this post or use one of the social networks in which we are present.

For my disappointing .More of the same I miss a 4K screen, more RAM, FM Radio and I have not seen it anywhere infrared connection necessary if you need a universal remote control at some point I have the note 1 and the note 3 and with the new specifications it is not worth buying.
Security by iris and others, they are more chorraditas that do not make the terminal better
Otherwise a good terminal ... it cannot be denied but nothing new that encourages you to run for it

    Another about tastes ...

Although my preference will always be for the Note, I still have the Galaxy S6 edge, in the end the new models only come in a hurry to devalue the existing ones, of course for those who want to comply with all the whims of Samsung. For my part, I think it is time for the company to include applications such as FM radio in its terminals, since this would make them more useful. Also I find it strange that being this a larger phone it includes a lower capacity mAh battery.

tongo, and in the case of the Snapdragon error in the description since the s7 edge Snapdragon comes with 3 of RAM and not 4 as they say in many pages, and the issue of the gorilla glass 5 now ... we'll see ... they always sell the motorcycle with the glass and in the end taking it out of the box ... or looking at it badly «the glass breaks» ... and with how cheap they sell the part it seems like a BUSINESS and everything ^ _ ^ ... at this rate I will return to SONY ...
