Samsung is working on a standalone virtual reality headset

Currently Samsung offers its customers a virtual reality glasses to which we have to add our Samsung to be able to enjoy the content that is currently available in 360 degrees as in the games that support it today. But it seems that It is not the only project the company has been working on in recent years.

Visual Camp, a company specialized in creating virtual and augmented reality content, has published an article about a virtual reality helmet from the Korean company Samsung, a helmet that was presented in private passes to a very small group of people in the past MWC held in Barcelona.

This helmet called Samsung ExynosVR III, would obviously be the third generation of a device that has never been put on sale at any time, but in which the Korean company is investing time and money. Inside this virtual reality helmet we find a 10 nanometer processor and a Mali G71 graphics processor. In theory, these glasses would be able to handle two screens with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and WQHD + resolution (2,560 x 1,440) or a 4k resolution display with a 75H refresh ratez, since we do not have more details if the interior is one or two screens.

This time it seems that Samsung will be late to the market, where we already find the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, but it wants to do it through the front door, as Apple usually does in recent years, where it has always been late but launches very round products and where we can hardly find negative aspects.

We will have to wait to see if Samsung officially presents this virtual reality headset, something that could do together with the presentation of the Galaxy Note 8, scheduled for mid-August. It is clear that this field is a priority for most technology companies, now that the products have started to make the production of the components cheaper and can reach a greater number of people.
