Samsung goes ahead with Tizen and is working on the Z9

Notes 5

In my previous article I have informed you about the market shares of the different current operating systems in which we can see how iOS and Android reign in the market with a joint share of 99.1% and where we can see how Android with 86,7% and iOS with 12,4% have managed to make Windows Phone and BlackBerry OS disappear from the market. But still, Samsung continues to work on its own operating system, Tizen, which at the moment is only intended for emerging countries. Tizen, unlike Android, requires less hardware to function with ease and the Korean firm is only selling it in these types of countries in addition to using it in its smartwatch models such as the Gear S2, which will soon receive a renewal.

As we have been able to read in the GSM Arena through Zauba, Samsung is working on a new high-end model equipped with Tizen. We do not know which countries it will be destined for but it may be the first step to begin to expand the Korean operating system around the world, since the previous models managed by this operating system Z3 and Z2 have only seen the light in emerging countries, where the price of the terminals should be as tight as possible to try to reach a greater part of the public.

The Samsung Z9 could hit the market with a 5-inch screen with a Full HD resolution. It would managed by an 8-core processor and will have between 2 and 3 GB of RAM. In terms of design, the Samsung Z9 would follow the aesthetic line of the Z range, with excessively rounded corners and its main component would be plastic like previous models. At the moment we do not have an approximate departure date or price. We also do not know if it will finally be oriented to everyone or will try to find a gap between the high-end terminals around the world, something difficult at present unless the price of the device is groundbreaking.
