Samsung launches insurance for its high-end called Samsung Mobile Care

Samsung

When making an investment in a smartphone, especially if it is high-end, it is most likely that we will choose to add a whole series of accessories such as protective cover and tempered glass to avoid that in case of any accident we have to throw the mobile into garbage or paying a very expensive repair, as long as the manufacturer allows them.

We can also try to include it in our home insurance, something quite complicated, so that in the event of an accident, it is the same who takes care of covering the repair or we can get a new one. If it is a Samsung smartphone, we can choose to take out the new insurance from the Korean company called Samsung Mobile Care, insurance aimed only at high-end Samsung terminals.

The new accident insurance is carried out through Allianz Global Assistance and it will repair any damage that our device suffers always through the official technical service, without having the risk of our smartphone passing through a Chinese store to the time to change the screen of it. As expected This insurance is limited to two parts during the two years that the policy lasts, after which, the company will not be responsible for new accidents.

This insurance has a price of 129 euros, we can pay it at the time of hiring it or opt for the monthly payment, with which we will pay 5,99 euros every month during the 24 months that the coverage lasts. The devices that are currently compatible with the Samsung Mobile Care are:

  • Samsung Galaxy S7
  • Samsung Galaxy Edge S7
  • Samsung Galaxy S8
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 +
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Presumably, with the launch of the Galaxy S9 and S9 +, the older models, which in this case would be the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, will no longer be available for purchase through insurance. Samsung offers us a period of 30 days from the date of official purchase to be able to contract the insurance, after which it will not be effective. In case we sell the terminal, the insurance can also be transferred to the buyer, as long as the insurance payment has been made in advance.
