Are frameless displays the future of smartphones?

Xiaomi

It's been a few weeks since we met, almost by surprise, the Xiaomi Mi Mix, a smartphone with a huge screen that occupies almost the entire front. This terminal was originally going to be an experimental device from which almost nothing was expected in the competitive mobile phone market. However with the passage of time has become one of the biggest stars in the market, far surpassing the Mi Note 2 that was called to be the new flagship of the Chinese manufacturer.

Now there are already many manufacturers who seem determined to jump on the bandwagon of smartphones with screens with hardly any frames. Meizu, Honor and even Samsung are some of the companies that will soon have their own mobile device without frames on the market. This has led us to ask ourselves the question that gives title to this article; Are frameless screens the future of smartphones?.

The screens without frames, an interesting novelty

When we first met the Xiaomi Mi Mix, many of us were shocked to see the huge screen that occupies just over 91% of the front. The camera on the bottom and the revolutionary idea for the fingerprint sensor or the audio system were other things that we also really liked.

Undoubtedly, the feeling of having a mobile device in your hands, whose screen occupies all or almost the entire front part, is more than good, although to tell the truth it does not provide us with anything at the level of utility, for example, of what they offer other terminals on the market. We could say that frames without frames are an interesting novelty, which only gives us things on an aesthetic level.

Let's hope that with the passage of time to the screens without frames other important news will be added, so that this novelty does not remain only on an aesthetic level. Of course, at the moment this novelty is more than interesting for almost everyone, we have been watching terminals pass in front of our eyes for a while without having hardly been able to see anything new.

Samsung, Honor or Meizu will be the next

Some said not too long ago that the Xiaomi Mi Mix would be a unique mobile device and in which few would be interested. Time has passed and their reason has been taking away from them, despite the enormous resistance problems that it seems to have, and there are already many manufacturers that seem to be launching a smartphone very similar to that of the Chinese manufacturer.

Next week we could meet the new Honor flagship that will have a screen without frames, which according to some rumors could occupy a greater part of the front than the Xiaomi terminal. Also, in recent days we have been able to see several images of the Galaxy S8 and a Meizu terminal that would mount a screen without frames that would occupy a large part of the front.

Honor

Without a doubt, it seems that no one has gone unnoticed the Xiaomi Mi Mix, which has set a new trend in the mobile device market. If Samsung and other manufacturers are thinking of launching a terminal with a frameless screen, the path of the near future seems clear.

Are frameless displays the future of smartphones?

Once some basic concepts have been explained in order to understand what is happening in the mobile phone market, the time has come to answer the question that gives this article its title.

At a time when the mobile phone market seemed to stagnate and with many manufacturers without ideas to incorporate into their terminals, Xiaomi has shown the way forward for years to come. Without a doubt, and at this moment, the screens without frames are the future of smartphones, until someone dares to innovate again and give everything a new twist.

Xiaomi has launched and is already selling the Xiaomi Mi Mix, a spectacular smartphone with a frameless screen, and in the coming months we will see how many other manufacturers launch their replicas on the market. In case there is any doubt, frameless displays are clearly the future through which the next flagships of the different manufacturers will walk, among which will undoubtedly be Samsung, Huawei, LG and even Apple.

Opinion freely

I have to honestly say that The first time I had the Xiaomi Mi Mix in my hands, I was very surprised by its screen without framesAlthough once you have managed to rub your eyes and stop looking at the huge screen, it becomes a novelty that gives us very little or nothing. Of course, taking a smartphone out of your pocket whose screen occupies 91.3 on the front gives you and everyone around you an extra bit of happiness.

Now it is the turn of many other manufacturers that are going to join the trend of frameless screens, just as it happened with the double camera, the metallic finishes or the double cameras. This is undoubtedly very good for all users as we will see how smartphones begin to perfect their frames without frames, improving, hopefully, also their low resistance.

If you want some advice, prepare yourself in the coming months to see a lot of terminals with frames without screens, which would continue to be released on the market without rest, and until manufacturers find another way to go and continue conquering users without rest.

Do you think that the screen without frames with the future of smartphones?. Also tell us if you would like to have a Xiaomi Mi Mix or one of the next terminals, where the screen will be one of the main protagonists and that we will see in the coming weeks or months.
