Sony sold more than 5,9 million PS4 consoles this Christmas

And it is that although the competition to the desktop consoles with the new generations of Nintendo and the like is true, they do not seem to "bother" too much the more traditional home consoles such as the PlayStation 4. In this sense we have to say that Sony and its PS 4 managed to sell about 6 million consoles last Christmas.

This is a really good figure considering that more and more users are opting for portable consoles or directly smartphones or tablets, to achieve portability that we did not have before. In short, a real success considering that the dates to achieve these figures vFrom the end of November to the last day of the year, December 31, 2017.

The figure was officially revealed by the Japanese company at the Las Vegas event, CES, and it seems they were quite proud of it. On the other hand, it is important to say that sales during this same period but from the previous year, that is, 2016, were somewhat higher, managing to pass the figure of 6 million consoles sold. Specifically were 6,2 million versus 5,9 million achieved in the same campaign, not counting those last minute purchases that can be made from January 1 to January 5.

Sony's effort to have the best console for the home and sales on Black Friday, Black Monday and the like, make this figure always good for them in terms of sales. Logically, and despite the good numbers, it is always better to exceed the figures of previous years, but this today with the video game market "so open" to new consoles is quite difficult to maintain.
