Specdrums, a very ingenious way to put rhythm to your fingers

MIDI specdrums of the future

Convert colors into sounds and create your own soundtrack. This is the intention of Spectrums, some rings that are connected to the mobile phone and that after tapping on a surface, the melody will begin to sound. Be careful, everything sounds great, but you should always keep in mind that you must contribute your bit and that you really be creative in this regard.

Specdrums is a project that you can finance through the popular platform of through crowdfunding Kickstarter. And its price starts at $ 39 (less than 35 euros at the current exchange rate). But let's see in more detail what this project consists of.

It could be described as the evolution of current MIDI keyboards. In addition, its transport is much lighter and easier: you only need a mobile (at the moment an iPhone) or a Mac or Linux computer - on Android and Windows there is no specific data. And, of course, a colored keyboard so that the rings recognize the sounds they should make.

The creators of the project put at your fingertips a keyboard consisting of 12 different colors, although they already advise that you can create and color it yourself. Once you have the keyboard ready, you just have to unleash your creativity and see what can come out of your fingers. Also, and as we have already indicated, this Specdrums works as if it were a MIDI keyboard / controller: you can emit different sounds: drums, guitars, piano, organs, etc. On the other hand, Specdrums will allow you to record your creations and be able to put your measures on repetition until you can form a complete melody.

In addition to being focused on musicians and music lovers, may also be indicated for education. And it is that having an invention like Specdrums in the classrooms would make the little ones give free rein to their creativity and imagination. But above all, enjoy music in a much more fun way making use of new technologies.
