HDMI 2.1 and HDMI Alt standard to launch at CES 2017

We are already starting to have news about the next CES in Las Vegas and in this case we are facing the arrival of the two specifications HDMI 2.1 and HDMI Alt, for this important event. The truth is that many manufacturers are betting today on USB Type C ports, and in this case the HDMI Alt standard that they announced last September is capable of working with these connections, so there is no need to worry about the adapters on this port and this is something to keep in mind.

The arrival of these two specifications opens a good handful of doors for uncompressed encrypted digital video and audio, but best of all, they have the same functions as current connections adding playback for 4K or 3D video, HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC), ARC sound and Dolby Surround. The union between the HDMI and USB Type-C ports is getting closer and closer.

On the other hand we also have the arrival of HDMI 2.1, which will be fully compliant with HDR dynamic metadata. This allows you to automatically adapt to the different image parameters in the different tv with HDMI 2.1 and current monitors. All this and much more will be presented officially and in great detail at this coming year's CES which takes place at the beginning of January and where we will surely have important news related to this standard. All the information about this HDMI Alt can be found directly on the website of HDMI.
