Thanks to the new Mozilla service, we can send files up to 1 GB securely

Firefox 51

If on any occasion you have been forced to share a large file, most likely you have had to look in the drawer where you kept the USB sticks for a long time, where they have coincidentally stopped being because they have changed residence to a place where no one can find them.

Or, you have used the popular service WeTransfer, a website that allows us to send files of up to 2 GB completely free of charge. The Mozilla Foundation just launched a new service called Send, a service that allows us to send files up to 1 GB in a completely secure way and whose content is automatically deleted once we download the file.

The guys at Mozilla just introduced this new service, called Send a service that also does not require us to use it exclusively with Firefox, but is compatible with most browsers currently available on the market, although Safari for macOS is not compatible. The operation of this service is very simple, since we only have to drag the file to the browser where this web page is open to automatically start uploading the file.

Once the file has been uploaded and is safely available, Send will send us a link where the file is located, a link that we will have to pass on to our friends, family or clients. Keep in mind that unlike WeTransfer, the file can only be downloaded onceas it is automatically deleted when downloaded.

Files only are available for 24 hours, after which it has not been downloaded, it will disappear completely from Mozilla's servers. The Mozilla Foundation ensures that you do not have access at any time to the content, a statement that coming from this company, offers us a peace of mind that we could not find in any other service offered by less well-known companies.
