On June 6, the Torre Espacio, a privileged business center in Madrid, held the connecting media, one of the most relevant events worldwide about digital media in which Colt will participate together with Google, Interxion and EpicLabs to promote and publicize the challenges of telecommunications in the mass media field.
We have had the opportunity to speak with Joan Monrrabá, Managing Director of Colt in Spain, a leading company in business network solutions, specialized in fiber optics and personalized services. Through this interview, we can get an idea of the planned roadmap for the business connectivity of the future.
How could it be otherwise, we put on the table the most relevant issues currently, Artificial Intelligence, 5G connectivity and the future in general cannot be absent ... When we talk about 5G many times we are focusing on the IoT and home use, But, what does the implementation of 5G networks contribute at the business level and how does this positively affect users?
The products and services offered by Colt are one step ahead of the competition, the capillarity of the fiber installed and that we handle in the company allows us to position ourselves in a very good place to transport the 5G signals of the wireless devices of our companies such as mobile phones, and of course, home automation hardware (IoT). Colt's first tests are based on using 5G antennas in our facilities and that the information navigates through the interconnected fiber networks, thus prioritizing its content, resulting more efficient, faster and without saturations.
What added value do networks such as the IQ Network of Colt to business users?
The network is a relevant actor, especially in this era of digital transformation, we have not only an interconnected network but also our own data centers, this allows massive access to stored data, creating more efficient security layers ... For example , this allows us to offer customers an IT service on demand, which enables us to modify bandwidth autonomously according to customer needs instantly, thus facing everything that may happen and allowing work to flow .
It seems that 5G technology and Artificial Intelligence are closely linked, what are the future plans of Colt facing these technologies?
5G will be implemented in the aforementioned way, through our own fiber networks, since it is radically different from what common operators offer. However, Artificial Intelligence is going to take a leading role in the coming years, at Colt we already work internally with Artificial Intelligence solutions that allow us to analyze and predict network behavior and data consumption. One example is that we at Colt use it internally for legal consultations and it is making extremely effective.
