The new MacBooks will change all connections to USB-C ports

One of the characteristics that a laptop must have to adapt to the use that we can make of it, are the possibilities of use offered by the device connections. The more USB the better and if they are 3.0 the better. The HDMI connection is also practically a necessity if we usually work at home and want to connect it to a TV or monitor where we can work in a more comfortable way. The ability to download photos through a card reader was useful a few years ago, when smartphones had not cannibalized the compact camera industry. And a little more.

These types of connections are usually common in mid-high-end computers and allow us to meet all our needs. But for Apple it is not like that. Apple removed all connections from the 12-inch MacBook leaving only one USB-C port. Through this port you can send audio, video, data in addition to charging the battery the device, thus also eliminating the connection required to charge the laptop.

Neither card reader, nor USB 3.0 ports, nor HDMI connection (although it is true that it has never implemented it in its devices). According to the latest rumors Apple could present the renewal of the MacBook range next week, a range that has been practically abandoned for almost two years and that is one of the reasons why the company is increasingly selling better computers.

This new range would dispense with all connections, following the same design as the 12-inch Macbook, leaving only one or two USB-C ports and eliminating the MagSafe charging port. But it could also integrate as the main novelty an OLED touch screen on top of the keyboard, a screen that we could configure with shortcuts to the applications we use regularly or to perform keyboard shortcuts in applications such as Photoshop, Final Cut, Safari ...
