The new Xbox One X starts off on the wrong foot in Japan

Keyboard and mouse support on Xbox One X

Since last November 7, Microsoft has made available to any user who wants to buy an Xbox, the new Xbox One X, a console with allows us enjoy games in 4k quality at 60fps, being the first console on the market to offer this possibility. Logically the price of the console is not cheap, 499 euros, which makes it the first option for some users to rule out if they are thinking of entering the world of video games, since most users are usually faithful to the brand and it is difficult for them to change platforms before a new launch.

Japan, home to Sony and Nintendo, has always been a territory where Microsoft has had it complicated when it comes to fighting against these two giants, and it seems that the latest launch adds to the list of failures of the company in the world of consoles in the country. According to the first sales figures, Microsoft has only sold 1.344 Xbox One X during the first week. If we take into account the sales figures during the first week of launch of the latest Nintendo and Sony models, we can see that the thing does not work.

During the first week of launching the Nintendo Swith, the company sold almost 80.000 units while Sony put on the market just over 20.000 Playstation 4 during its first week of release in Japan. Outside of Japan the figures are much higher, since only in the United Kingdom they have sold 67.000 units. Unfortunately official figures about sales in the United States, the main and most important Xbox market for Microsoft.

Since its launch in Japan, Sony has put into circulation almost 5,5 million PlayStation 4 in its different models, while Nintendo has already sold in less than a year almost 2.200.000 units of the Nintendo Switch, a console that has surpassed all the expectations that the Japanese firm had placed on her. The Xbox, in its different versions, it has not exceeded 100.000 units in its entire sales history in Japan.
