Google's Nexus family will disappear this year

Nexus 6

During yesterday afternoon, the Android Police website has published information that has crossed the world several times. Apparently Google's Nexus family will disappear this year. So it seems that the new Google Nexus, the terminals created by HTC, they will not have the Nexus name but will have another name that is unknown or at least that is expected.

The information indicates that mobile phones will be presented this year, so they may be HTC terminals or simply new terminals that we do not know, something that could fit with everything we know so far.

Future mobiles will not only have Android Nougat but will also have a custom layer of which we already know the shape of the virtual buttons, something that will also it would clash with the information we have from the Nexus Launcher, the launcher that would be in the new mobiles and that receives the name of Nexus.

There could be new Google phones that would not be from the Nexus family

An option that would fit all the information is the possibility that Google will launch its own hardware this year, something that has been talked about for a long time and that could be a reality but a reality that would not have the nickname of Nexus. This possibility would fit with all the information, however, the mobiles would compete with each other so that in the long run it would not be a great idea for the company or so it seems.

At the moment everything remains in the air since no one from Google has certified that it is true or not, although when it is already said that the Nexus family will not continue, it is very possibly true, although I doubt that it will be this year when everything happens. Possibly be something we will know next year with Android 8, something very feasible Do not you think?
